Fishing vessels
We have delivered refrigeration systems for many types of fishing vessels such as pelagic freezing vessels, round fish freezing (fillets), flat fish cooling and fish on ice, and tuna seiners. All of them required a different kind of approach and equipment. We deliver;
RSW systems
We deliver RSW cooling units that will cool down water and fish inside the RSW tanks by recirculation of the water from the tank over the RSW Chiller. This process can be fully automatic when including the RSW tank processes to prefill the tanks with water, cool down, re-cool, charging with fish, cool down again, re-cool, and emptying the tank.
Additionally we deliver RSW pre-cooling units that can cool down seawater from 30 to –1 °C in one step. This water is supplied to the grading tanks in which the graded fish is temporarily stored before freezing.
Freezing systems
The freezing systems of the pelagic freezer trawlers are usually big, complex and fully computer controlled. The freezing capacity of these systems is from 150 to 300 tons per day and most vessels have ammonia / CO2 Cascade systems to freeze the fish or ammonia systems. Marefsol designed and commissioned the refrigeration systems of the Vladivostok 2000 which is the worlds largest ship for fish processing. Presently we are working on a new project at Tersan in Turkey for which we will deliver the RSW system and the freezing plant for freezing roundfish in horizontal and vertical platefreezers as well as IQF Freezers.
Reefer vessels
Reefer vessels are used to transport large volumes of refrigerated and frozen products. In 2019, four (4) new reefer vessels have been added to the Seatrade fleet. The vessels have a refrigeration system of Marefsol.
We were responsible for;
- Design and delivery of the ammonia/brine system;
- Complete design of the air circulation systems and the air distribution from the gratings;
- Arrangement of the brine chiller unit room;
- Arrangement and sizing of the ducting inside the holds;
- Design and arrangement of the indirect cooling system with brine (CaCl2);
- Design and arrangement of the aircoolers inside the deckhouses;
- Design and delivery of the computer control system.
Juice carriers
Orange Juice carriers are used to transport large volumes of FCOJ (Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice)
or NFC (Not from Concentrate). In 2018, the Juice Carrier (Juice Express) was added to the fleet of Seatrade for which Marefsol designed and delivered the refrigeration system. Additionally we designed and delivered the refrigeration system, for the Citrus Vita Brasil of CITROSUCO that has a transport volume of 27000 m3. We were responsible for;
- Complete design of the refrigeration system;
- Complete design of the air circulation systems inside the refrigerated holds;
- Arrangement of the brine chiller unit room;
- Design and arrangement of the indirect cooling sys-tems with brine (CaCl2);
- Design and delivery of the brine chiller units;
- Design and delivery of the brine manifold with automatic defrosting of the aircoolers;
- Design and delivery of the aircoolers and the fansfor the refrigerated holds;
- Design and delivery of the complete electrical and automation system (Siemens) for the refrigerationsystem;
- Newbuild supervision;
- Testing and commissioning;
- Classification of the refrigeration system by classification societies.
Marine Business is world wide business
We are proud to say that we can do our projects every where. China, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Mexico, American Samoa, Taiwan, Norway, Turkey, Namibia, South Africa are the countries in which we have been for our projects. Then there are many other countries to which we have delivered our equipment.
